How Helpful Are You?
BY JEFF REDMON/BREAKTHROUGH IMPACT GROUP
Did you know…
You’re probably not as helpful as you think?
Too often, being helpful is all about you.
Think about how you feel when you help others.
You feel satisfied and inadvertently may actually be diminishing the other person’s sense of self-worth.
Helping incurs a debt.
You send a card, I owe you one back.
If I help you, you owe me.
This isn’t how it should work.
Might I suggest a shift in your mindset?
Instead of being helpful, what if you were being of service?
Don’t focus on what is lacking but how our wholeness can strengthen the wholeness of others.
