Pain is inevitable, suffering is a choice.

BY JEFF REDMON/BREAKTHROUGH IMPACT GROUP

Words we are unfortunately all too familiar with.

A couple of weeks ago, I learned that I will not have doctor approval to scuba dive because of a recent blood infection.

It may not sound like much but for me, it took away something that has been a big part of my life for 30 years.

I have completed over 1,000 spectacular scuba dives all over the world.

So, this was a kick in the gut.

Like many, I allowed this loss to consume me.

A good friend suggested I revisit Solve for Happy by Mo Gawdat.

The first time I devoured that book at 2.0 speed.

This time, I took every word to heart.

No amount of worry is going to bring back scuba diving for me.

It’s my choice if I let this loss take over my life.

What pain are you suffering?

Gawdat suggests we spend too much time worrying about the past or anticipating the future.

The only thing we can control is right now.

At Breakthrough Impact Group we believe everyone should take advantage of every moment.
