What is Your Relationship with Fear?
BY JEFF REDMON/BREAKTHROUGH IMPACT GROUP
This is a question my good friend and fellow coach, Jon Iveson, asks you.
Jon recently went on a 6-day NY trip with his 15-year-old daughter.
The point of the trip was to visit his dad, but Jon is never one to miss a learning opportunity.
“One of the opportunities that presented itself during this trip was to help my daughter work on her fears.
I chose to simply notice the presence of the fear in those situations.
I danced and played with its presence by utilizing self-deprecating humor.
I was able to shift people’s focus to positive emotions like courage, confidence, and gratitude.
Fear shows up in all our lives. We need to develop a healthy relationship with it and use it as a signal, not a roadblock!”
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
